Last summer days

Slowly the summer is fading away and the crisp and clear autumn air is coming in causing the skies to turn into a marvellous deep blue and allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking views.

Summer has arrived!

After a long period that was characterised by regular cold air perturbations and the consequently unstable and rainy weather, the air above the whole Mediterranean area became stable with nice warm weather.

With a probability between 60 and 70% there will be a hot current from Northern Africa that will raise temperatures above average. The American GFS model suggests with a chance between 30 and 40% that colder air might come in from north causing some unstable weather by the 6th of July.

Festa della Montagna

Every year on the top of the Monte Nerone mountain there is the “Festa della Montagna” event. This year on 17 and 18 July you will be able to enjoy several activities on the fields of this beautiful mountain. Visit the Pro-Nerone site for more detailed information.

Cantine aperte

Next weekend (29/5 and 30/5) you can visit a lot of winehouses, Cantina’s in occasion of the yearly “Cantine Aperte”, open winehouses. During this event you’ll be able not only to taste the wines (you can do anytime of course) but also see local art expo’s and see and taste local produce.

Personally I can strongly recommend Villa Forano, not only for its excellent wines but also for the very nice people running the business.

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of May 2010 in Piobbico.

Medicinal plants, herbs and the “spignolo” mushroom. During these two days you can attend conventions, exhibitions, local cuisine and the San Felice fair.
